Commercial Management

Commercial management includes all kinds of vessel employment on behalf of the owner, such as time charter (bareboat) or voyage charter, etc.
It also entails delivering the three major service groups:
Chartering
Chartering is a basic activity of any commercial management process that involves the vessel seeking and negotiating employment and the signing of charter parties or other contracts pertaining to the vessel's employment. We provide for each ship voyage, single-time charter ("time charter trip"), or, if appropriate, term employment, depending on the owners' wishes.
We attempt to get the best possible job to maximise earnings and guarantee tonnage positioning to best take advantage of the constantly changing market conditions. All possible new business partners and charterers are checked as a matter of priority and security.
Furthermore, future business expansions will focus on developing and strengthening relationships with cargo interests, as well as obtaining contract employment for the increasing fleet.
The operational side of commercial management is a critical component of the equation. This is where money may be saved or lost, and a voyage can be made lucrative. Our expert ship operators guarantee that all ships are handled safely and efficiently and that every voyage goes well.
We maintain regular communication with our competent ship's Masters, as well as charterers, brokers, port agents, and bunker suppliers.
Our operators are fully aware of the commercial importance of the impact of their work in the context of the competitive environment in which shipping operates, and as such, there is constant liaison with the commercial department to ensure that any or all potential problematic situations are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Accounting, controls, and calculations
It is difficult to imagine a modern commercial management model without a comprehensive system of tools such as voyage estimating and accounting, actual voyage results calculations, full load calculation, advising shortest routes for the vessel, calculation of hire, freight, demurrage, and despatch monies from or due to the charterers of the vessel, accounts control and performance analyses in the form of time charter equivalent for any period required.
